Student on Exchange Program- Living Lab 1

Lea Roj, a Computer Science student from the University of Maribor in Slovenia, participated in a transformative academic exchange program at Maseno University in Kenya from June to September 2025. As part of the PrAECtiCe Student Exchange Program, she was based at the Kisumu Campus and Living Lab 1, where her work was supervised by Dr. Erick Ogello, the Principal Investigator from Maseno University’s School of Agriculture, Food Security and Environmental Sciences. Under this guidance, she applied her technical skills to real-world challenges, with her main accomplishments including collecting and importing agricultural data into a Decision Support Tool, creating instructional guides and videos for it, and conducting a workshop for local agricultural officers. Beyond her professional work, Lea immersed herself in Kenyan culture, adapting to the local climate, cuisine, and customs, making her exchange a holistic personal and professional growth experience.
