The existing demonstration site (VicInAqua) located at Lake Victoria in Kenya will be renewed within PrAEctiCe as a living bioeconomy lab that aims at a sustainable integrated aqua-agriculture system based on innovative technologies. In this pilot, aquaculture wastewater will be reused to irrigate intercropping systems, and aquaculture sludge will be used as fertilizer.

During the first visit end of January,2023 by the  Hochschule Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences (HKA)  researchers, they visited the lab at  VicInAqua and found that the entire system is running well. Other Participants included DALF-Kisumu County and Maseno University 

Some of the key areas discussed were: Energy consumption, Required Area for the living lab 1 and  Black Solder Fly BSF.

The Partners on this workpackage are determined to produce outstanding outputs that will bring change to the farmers, in the entire county.
